Metro Providence

Providence, founded by Roger Williams in 1636, is the largest city in Rhode Island. The metropolitan area offers several historical walks and short hikes in preserved wooded areas. There are also several small city parks that offer walking paths. In the western suburbs city turns to farms and large tracts of woods. The shore is accessible from Waterplace Park in downtown through India Point to the East Bay Bike Path.
